Vindicate on a stick doesn't really do anything for aggro. they could win through control, but that's a gameplan that is overall more complex and more costly to pull off than a simple aggro or combo gameplan. slivers win through either wide aggro, or combo. and while that's great for control, and you could absolutely build a total control deck using slivers.that's not how slivers win. Meanwhile, necrotic is vindicate on a stick. there's no reason to run it over similar-but-better blue slivers in a deck that is likely to have a poor blue economy. Put simply, in the budget of blue slivers, shadow is poorly costed and doesn't grant a great ability. synapse grants curiosity to all your slivers which is incredibly powerful, while winged or galerider grant flying, which is way more versatile than shadow, and both are cheaper to boot. blue and black are the two colour that slivers don't favour, so when you run slivers of those colours you want to make sure they're packing powerful and/or aggressively costed abilities because you're not running many lands that produce UB mana, and you're running more ramp and green/red/white slivers to establish a strong base. r/magicTCG is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
